Sun Jin was born in Seoul, South Korea and graduated from Korea University with a chemical engineering degree. Outside the lab, he enjoys playing sports. He especially likes playing soccer and swimming. One thing special about him is that he participated in the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Haiti for six months during the military service in Korea. He is also a recipient of the Samsung Scholarship.

Sun Jin’s research aim is to develop novel biosensors to measure metabolites for better understanding in cancer metabolism and for applications in metabolic engineering.
